Nursing pads

DSC_3962

Because I am no big fan of disposable things, but my bought ones are not nearly enough to keep me dry, I made myself some nursing pads. Fortunately I had everything at home. I even managed to make them despite having a grumpy little one, who did not want to sleep at all.

I simply cut circles out of a molton fabric and then layered two of these and a cotton fabric. Then I sewed all this together with my serger. Easy and quick! I was a bit lazy and did not cut circles out of the cotton,  but used my serger to cut it in shape. So I saved some time.

I now have nine pairs of selfmade ones and three bought ones. I hope these will keep me dry at least for some days.

Muji Gel Pens

CSC_3802

Of course I had to have some fancy pens for my filofax and who makes better pens than the Japanese? So I bought this set of Muji gel pens.

DSC_3796

These pens are really expensive, especially when you have to order them from their website. I wish I had a store near me.

DSC_3794

The pens have a very thin tip and write really smoothly. I use the black one most often and like how it writes. What is a bit odd about this set is the choice of colors. You have several pink and blue ones, but no yellow or brown. This was not so clear on the website, so I was a bit disappointed when it arrived.

All in all the pens are nice, but I am not sure if they are worth the price. I would repurchase the black one alone, but only if I could buy it in a store. Unfortunately there are not many Muji stores in Germany.

Advent Calendar

DSC_3948

I started this project four years ago, but only finished it recently. The first year I only did the embroidery, the second year I think I did the tree and last year I stitched on the buttons and began to put together the ornaments. But then the present making did come first and I only managed to finish six ornaments. Finally this week I did make the rest. So for the next christmas the advent calendar is ready to be used. Maybe the little one will have fun with it.

I plan to make some other ornaments in the future, so that it does not become boring.

Eco-Friendly Crafting with Kids by Kate Lilley

DSC_3767

I know it is still a bit early for crafting with the little one, but I thought a crafting book for the future could not hurt. This book has really great and simple crafting ideas. A lot of them are not new and I discovered some things from my own childhood. But this does not bother me, because often the simple things are the best and really who can remember all things from childhood? A little reminder is always welcome.

I can't wait till the little one is old enough for this, but until then I enjoy that he is so small and easy to handle.

Stamps and stamp ink

I am currently in a stamp mood and so I ordered these cute matryoshka stamps and some black stamp ink. The ink is great. It is really black and you can use it for very detailed stamps.

DSC_3771

The matryoshkas are cute but a bit difficult to stamp. I think I still have to get used to them. But I am really happy with this purchase and hopefully have time soon to use it.

With my purchase I also got a lot of goodies, which made me really happy. I bought the stamps and the ink here.

Julekuler by Arne & Carlos

DSC_3769

I know it is far too late or far too early for christmas stuff, but I wanted to show you this book nonetheless. In this book the nice looking guys from the cover show you how to knit christmas baubles. I think this is a great idea and I plan on making some for next christmas and to teach myself colorwork.

The book is in German and unfortunately there seems to be no English translation. But if you can read German you should check it out.
