Summer party

My boyfriends rod and gun club had a summer party last weekend. Of course I had to dress up a bit. I finished my 1947 dress in time and wore it with my cute little 40s hat. The pattern is Vogue 8728. It was very comfortable to wear.

The party was quite okay. I had fun to amuse myself about the uniforms. On the one side I like the vintage feeling but on the other they look a bit ridiculous. My boyfriend won the second place at the shooting competition.

Vintage Patterns: The 70s

Although the 70s are not my favorite decade I think some of the styles are really nice. I like the long flowing dresses in soft colors and the cute short simple dresses. Some things are a bit funny, but that makes them even better.



Simplicity 7434 - Some years ago I bought a original 70s dress. I ever thought it was selfmade and now I discovered the exact pattern. I am not sure if I make one, because I already have this, but it was too tempting to have the pattern.

Simplicity 8746 - I got this for a good price and had to have it. The dress is great for summer and I think it will be easy to sew. I like the different collars. Maybe I even make the trousers.

Simplicity 5525 - Another fun pattern. Want to make a leotard for ballet out of this.

Simplicity 5465 - Don´t know why I bought this. It somehow caught me. For me it´s one of the funny things, because of the apron. But it´s so cute. Maybe I really make this.

Simplicity 8199 - I want this for summer. It would be so much fun to wear this while sitting in the garden after a fresh up in the river (I love swimming in the river). I like the trousers too, my boyfriend might like them even more.

Gifts

My boyfriend´s Grandma brought some sewing things for me she had at home. I think this is so nice of her. Got some fabric you can use for grocery bags, thread, lace, trims and needle cases. I love the lace. It´s perfect for my silk projects.

Online shopping

I was a bad girl and did a bit of online shopping. And of course there are some patterns.



Can´t wait for the 40s dress from Vogue to come. Maybe I will buy fabric for it tomorrow. The Wearing History pattern was just too cute. And I think I can adapt this into a blouse and maybe a dress as well. The Patrones is a special summer issue. I hope I can find some nice dress patterns there. The 70s pattern I want to use for a ballet leotard with matching skirt and maybe some shirts.

And I ordered two metres of real silk fabric to make some cute undergarments. I am really a bad girl.

I am not so much in a sewing mood right now. Maybe it is the weather. One day it is too hot the other when the sun is not shining I am somewhat lazy. I am so sorry for that. And this with all the ideas in my mind.

Vintage Patterns: The 60s

McCall's 5507 - Already made this, but was not very satisfied. It didn´t fit right and all in all it was not my style. Maybe if I am a bit older.

Butterick 3079 - I could imagine this in a light fabric for summer. Hope to make this soon.

Simplicity 3949 - Again a maternity pattern. I think this is so cute and you can wear it even if you are not pregnant.

Butterick 4699 - Made this already and I have to say it looks not so good in real. Maybe I can rock this with a belt. Want to try this soon.

Simplicity 8144 - My first vintage pattern I bought some years ago and never made. It´s cute and I could imagine to wear this, but somehow at the moment I am not very excited about it.

Plans for June 2011

Shopping Trip

I know, I didn´t want to buy nail polish, but this nautical edition of P2 was just too cute. I really like the blue and can imagine an outfit with this two colors (already have plans for a matching dress). The brush was on sale and I am really surprised how well it works.
