When I was window shopping last Wednesday I just couldn't resist this baking mix for macarons. And despite being crippled they taste really good.

A lot of wood and a birthday party

DSC_1856

My father celebrated his 60th birthday this weekend and so my boyfriend and I headed to my hometown. Before the big party we took the opportunity and visited "Blockhausen". This a kind of "village" (it´s only three or so huts) made of block houses. There are exhibited a lot of wooden sculptures made with chainsaws. These are so cool. I really can't imagine how they make all the little details.

Fairytale Food

DSC_1845

I discovered this little book when I was browsing Amazon. Of course I couldn't resist buying it. A Fairytale Cookbook? Yes, please.

DSC_1847

And it did not disappoint me. I can not say much about the recipe. They seem to be not very very easy, but manageable. But I really like the pictures and the little texts. And it's nice, that there are not only the same fairytales, but also some unusual ones (Princess on the pea for example). And there is also my favorite one, Beauty and the Beast (the burgers sound delicious).

A ... B ... C...

DSC_1830

Yesterday the daughter of my friend got to first class and we had a little party. And because I remembered a dress I made some years ago, which I did not wear anymore I thought I make a new blouse. The fabric of the dress has colorful letters strewn about.

I had some trouble finding a matching fabric for the collar. I had only very little of the yellow, but it was so perfect. In the end it was just enough and I am really happy with my choice.

I decided on New Look 6808. The only change I made was to omit the darts at the waist, so that I could skip the zipper. I mean to wear the blouse only tucked in, so this is no problem.

I had some trouble with attaching the collar, but this was mainly my fault. Somehow I made one mistake after the other.

When the blouse was finally done, I had some trouble finding a matching outfit. I really lack some solid color skirts. And I also had no tights anymore. In the end I decided on my only jeans. I think it goes well with the blouse.

The party was so much fun. I enjoyed myself very much. And I hope the new school kid has fun tomorrow.

Outfit rundown:

Blouse: made by me, New Look 6808
Jeans: H&M
Belt: Vintage (Etsy)
Bag: Bodyline
Shoes: Deichmann

40s pajamas

DSC_1812

I couldn´t resist buying this pattern. It was just too cute. And I need something warm for winter. At least I have to make some comfortable pants for home soon, because my old ones ripped and I have not replaced them yet.

My plan was to use some fabric from my stash, but as it mostly consists of leftovers I did not found something nice. After I searched in vain for half an hour, I gave up and ordered a polka dot cotton almost like the one at the right girl.

The rest of the afternoon I watched "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries". It´s a modern take on "Pride and Prejudice" one of my favorite books.

Mollie Makes

CIMG3678

The magazine "Mollie Makes" is around for quite some time now, but till now I could resist to buy it. But lately I was just too curious and ordered three issues.

The pictures in these magazines are stunning. I could spend hours only browsing the photos. There are also some cute tutorials, but most of the things I would not make. I can't say much about the articles, because I did not read many of them. I think they are a bit like reading blogs, only all in one place.

I am not sure if I will buy an issue again. I wait till I see the next themes. But the extras in "Mollie Makes" are really cute. I love the ribbon and the crochet needle.
