Lolita Fleemarket
Today we had a lolita meet-up. Two girls from our group will leave us for a while and we wanted to make a goodbye meeting for them. And because one of the girls had to get rid of some of her things we had a small lolita fleemarket. I only sold two things, but it were the more important things, so it is okay. But of course I bought also something. Here are some photos of my outfit and my new skirt.

Photo a day July - Day sixteen to twenty (and I got flowers)
Today I got flowers by the boss I worked for the last three weeks, because of my good work (I made the job for his secretary who was on holidays). That was so nice of him. I don´t want to change office on Monday, because the three weeks were really nice, but I hope after some days I will settle on my new place.

Shopping
What I wanted to buy:
What I did not plan to buy:
It is so long ago I visited my local fabric store, but the sales lady remebered me. We had a nice chat. And of course I couldn´t go without some new fabric. Fortunately they were on sale. I paid only 20 bucks for all this. Our local fabric store has almost always some fabrics on sale and often I find some nice ones, I would never have bought for the original price.
On the one hand I don´t want to buy fabric I have no plan for, but on the other I envy those people who can sew all from their stash. How nice it is if you don´t have to hunt for the perfect fabric everywhere but only look through your stash and find something that fits the bill. Not that I don´t have enough fabric already here, but it´s mostly left-overs that are not enough for a whole project.
So I don´t regret my purchase. The black fabric will hopefully make a nice 40s dress or blouse and the other one a pencil skirt and maybe a matching jacket.

Birthday Present
My Mom celebrated her birthday at the end of April and of course I did not make her present in time. It was nearly finished but then it laid here for week after week untouched. When I had some days free before my final exams I finally finished it. It is a Fat Kitty by Aimee Ray. I embroidered it with the intial of my Mom and the flowers of the original pattern. I am not so pleased with the embroidery. Somehow the felt was difficult to work with. But I hope my Mom will like it nonetheless. And thanks to my Dad for the photos, because I forgot to take some (for a whole week) before I send the package to my parents.

Photo a day - Day one to six
I try out the Photo Challenge by Fat Mum Slim. I will not do the themes by order. It´s more comfortable for me to do them like I have the chance. So here are the first six photos. I had some fun, playing with the different modes on my camera:

Review - Fairytale Bags
This book combines my love for fairy tales and sewing. It shows how to make cute bags with fariy tale motifs (sometimes I would not consider it a fairy tale, but more a childrens book like with Anne of Green Gables). The designs are great. Unfortunately I could not understand every story title. I think you could use the motifs also for other things. My idea was to embelish a circle skirt with one. The book even offers some ideas to use the designs in other ways.
All in all it´s a cute book. You can even only flip through it and admire the motifs.
